Homemade donuts can feel like an intimidating task - but they don't have to be! These Superfood Almond Butter Donuts are as easy as stir, bake, and glaze. Plus, they can easily be made gluten-free and personalized with your favorite toppings. Let's do it (or should we say - donut)!
for 6+ servings:
1/4 cup of milk of choice
1 1/2 tsp of apple cider vinegar
3 1/2 tbsp of Yumbutter Superfood Almond Butter
1/3 cup of pure maple syrup, honey, or agave
1/4 tsp of pure vanilla extract
1 cup of spelt, white, or oat flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1/4 tsp of salt
1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips, optional
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
1 tbsp of Yumbutter Superfood Almond Butter
2 tbsp of milk of choice
1/8 tsp of pure vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 350 F and grease a donut pan.
Heat almond butter until soft. Stir together first five ingredients.
Stir in dry ingredients to form a batter, spread into pan, and bake 8 minutes. Let sit a few minutes before going around the sides with a knife and popping out.
Mix up the glaze, pour over donuts, and add desired toppings (we used Halloween-themed sprinkles!). Store in the fridge.
